The Designer
Karen Astrachan has been designing jewelry since January of 2004 and has become known for collections that add sparkle and glamour, day or night. Her designs add elegance and style to the woman on the go as well as the celebrity gracing the red carpet. From her studio in Connecticut, Karen gets her design inspiration from the worlds of art, fashion and music. She approaches each design like a musical composition, with its own rhythms, accents and tones. She is a graduate of Yale University and the Boston College School of Law. Karen is a classical pianist who entered and won her first international piano competition in June of 2017. Karen also competes at ballroom dancing.
Designs
Karen designs in gold and sterling silver and uses precious and semi-precious stones. She created a line of casual earring jackets that she trademarked with the name Stud Changers®. As a result of the many requests by private clients, Karen does many custom designs for brides and special occasions. She also creates new pieces from several that her clients find in their jewelry box, a creative endeavor that allows her clients to wear pieces that are meaningful in a new way. Karen brings her unique eye to all her custom designs.
